The Ulster Project is an ecumenical program that each summer brings 16 Protestant and Catholic teens, both boys and girls, from Northern Ireland to live and interact with Arlington teens, discovering how to live peacefully in a religiously mixed environment.
Families host the Irish visitors, while counselors lead day activities which include community service, team-building exercises, ecumenical worship, and social gatherings.
The principal goal is to help foster tolerance, trust, and ongoing positive relationships among the boys & girls. Arlington has hosted 16 visitors every year since 1992.
