Saint Cecilia Singers is a group of women, (mothers and daughters, sisters, cousins, friends or ‘sisters in Christ’), who gather to lead the music for the 11AM Mass on Sundays at Saint Maria Goretti. They also serve in their ministry for special celebrations throughout the year. The group was begun based on a demographic survey of members of the parish indicating the need for 2/3 of the parish (all women) to have a group to which they could belong and has flourished for more than a decade. Saint Cecilia Singers have participated in the opening event for the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (2010), presented in concert with Brookhaven Community Chorus, Dallas (2008), Carnegie Hall, New York (2006), St. Teresa’s Parish Visit, Austin (2003), a diocesan Diaconate Ordination (2016) and a diocesan Priest Ordination (2023) in addition to several weddings. The music, fellowship, praise and prayers we share enrich the lives of all its members and our parishioners and bring us closer to the desire for full, active, conscious and fruitful participation in our faith, its rituals and its traditions.
Come join us for this exciting season!
