St. Cecilia Singers is a group of women, (mothers and daughters, sisters, cousins, friends or ‘sisters in Christ’), who gather to assist in leading the music for the 11AM Mass on Sundays at St. Maria Goretti. They also serve in their ministry for special celebrations throughout the year. The group was begun based on a demographic survey of members of the parish indicating the need for 2/3 of the parish (all women) to have a group to which they could belong and has flourished for the last decade. St. Cecilia Singers have participated in the opening event for the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (2010), were presented in concert with Brookhaven Community Chorus, Dallas (2008), Carnegie Hall, New York (2006) and St. Teresa’s Parish Visit, Austin (2003). The music, fellowship, praise and prayers we share enrich the lives of all its members, from youth to maturity, and bring us closer to the desire for full, active participation in our faith, its rituals and its traditions.
Come join us for this exciting season!
