Secular Franciscan Order

The Secular Franciscan Order was founded by Saint Francis of Assisi over 800 years ago. The Franciscan family consists of Priests, Religious Brothers and Sisters and lay Franciscans ... which we Seculars are.

The Rule, Constitutions and particular Statutes are the guidelines for all of us. It unites us to work as one family for the same goals. We are committed by our vocation to center our life on Christ and to build the Kingdom of God in temporal situations and activities. We live our membership in the Church and in society as an inseparable reality. We allow God to be in charge of our life.

Tired of the fast pace, of the greed, of the power, of the lack of commitment, of the materialism, of the loose morals, of the vagueness "of it all"?

Thinking about making a change; to simplify your life, to live a life of compassion, to grow in prayer by developing a deeper relationship with God, to bring the message of "The Galilean" to the work place and the world, to be with people who understand the word commitment.

To be with people of a joyful, peaceful disposition with the desire to work together in making this a better world for all?

Then think about changing your life style by following in the footsteps of "God's Fool", Saint Francis of Assisi. Do it by considering the Secular Franciscan Order. As a layperson; choose to be a follower/doer of Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Claire. God loves you and needs you! Just the way you are!
