for info about OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults)
OCIA (Previously RCIA) is the 'Order of Christian Initiation for Adults'. A person over 18 years of age, either un-baptized or baptized in another Christian tradition & seeking full entry into the Catholic Church does so through OCIA. OCIA is a journey of faith and learning; you aren't obligated to join the Faith if you begin the OCIA process.
MARRIAGE & OCIA:
If you are currently married outside the Catholic Church, Marriage Preparation and/or validation of your current marriage is required before you can be fully received into the Church. All previous marriages (of you and your spouse), including JP or 'Common Law', will have to go through the marriage Tribunal process for possible annulment before your current marriage can be validated.
Unresolved marriage issues may delay a person's entry into the Catholic Church.
