Christmas and Advent is now behind us and Lent is just ahead. Can you believe 2011 is now over and 2012 is here?
We finally have a change to catch our breath from the Thanksgiving Basket flow right into the Angel Tree program which, between the two ran 7 straight weeks and then a week of clean up.
THANK YOU .... THANK YOU ... THANK YOU!!!
The volunteers of the Peace & Justice Angel Tree wish to thank each and everyone of you that gave so much from your hearts and pocketbooks to support our annual Angel Tree. Thanks to our parishioners we filled all the Angel Tree requests and collected gifts for over 400 needy children.
FYI - we also learned we need to stick with our previous years dates for putting up the tree!
This past Christmas we tried to put the tree up one week later than the weekend after Thanksgiving and realized we must stick with putting up the tree the Thanksgiving weekend. Not only does it ease the timeframe we need to get the gifts back and prepared for the distribution but it also enables parishioners to take advantage of the Black Friday weekend sales! We listened to you and have already set our calendars for 2012!
Thank you also to all the volunteers that stepped forward and helped sign out the Angels, sign the gifts back in, moved the gifts, sorted and bagged by family, translated and distributed the gifts to the clients.
You are all wonderful stewards of Christ!
Our prayers to you and your families for your generosity!!
