First Responder Mission
Adopt a First Responder was created to provide support to those United States Service Men and Women in Combat situations and local police and firefighters.
These include Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iraq and other areas of the world US Service Men and Women serve where it is considered an area of combat. We also want to recognize our local members who put their life on the line for us every day. We lift them all up in prayer.
The name changed to Adopt a First Responder mid 2010 from Adopt a Service Member in Harm's Way to incorporate our police and firefighters.
Add a First Responder:
Family members can submit a photograph of any size that will be copied for the SMG First Responder board and returned to the family. Names will be added to the "White Book” adjacent to the SMG Oratory of the Sacred Heart in the Parish Office. Photos, along with a return name and address and telephone number can be dropped off in the Parish Office in an envelope with the notation : “Adopt A First Responder”. Local Police and Firefighters will just have their picture and relationship to SMG parishioners posted on the Board.
Adopt a First Responder:
To adopt a service member please see the White Book adjacent to the SMG Adoration room and complete one of the forms found in the left hand cover pocket.
